The property’s main building is a 16th-century manor which served as a monastery during the 17th century, and later became the residence of a local noble family; the Counts of Butori. The villa’s walls and furniture have been completely renovated throughout the last ten years with one goal in mind; to take the guests on a voyage through Tuscany’s artistic styles between the XVII and the XIX century. Every single room – including the villa’s former chapel and the three bathrooms – has been adorned with frescoes reflecting a specific period’s aesthetic tastes, and the two main halls have been improved by restoring their original frescoes – from the XVII and XIX century respectively–to their former beauty.

Lucca also known as ‘the city of one hundred churches’, is very rich in Italian history as it is here where Florentine noble families spent their summers. The city walls that we see today date back to the 17th century and have been restored with 4km of parkland, which makes for a lovely place to walk, cycle or have a picnic.

Presently, Lucca is an attractive location to reside because it is well connected to local motorways and airports and it is found in close proximity to the Tuscan Coast, Versilia and Florence. The city also offers many activities, events and wonderful restaurants.

The Renaissance Villa is located at the heart of a 14 acres-estate and overlooks the impressive valley and the village near it. As the villa is isolated, you can enjoy its natural surroundings and easily get to Tuscany’s most beautiful destinations. Indeed, the Villa is at 20 minutes away from Lucca, 30 from Pisa and 1 hour away from Florence. Villa Renaissance is also 45 minutes away from the well-known seaside destinations of Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi and Torre del Lago. From April to September the guests will also be able to use the property’s private swimming pool.

On the ground floor a sweep of stone steps leads up from the garden to double French windows which open into a charming frescoed entrance hall with a painted beamed ceiling.

From this room, doors lead right to a library with a wooden floor and marble fireplace and left to a frescoed room also with marble fireplace. At the far end of the entrance hall on the right is a passageway leading to a double bedroom with bathroom and the chapel. A further door leads off the entrance hall left to a pantry and then to a kitchen/dining room. This kitchen/dining room has two French windows which lead onto a covered terrace at the side of the Villa. This terrace is ideal for eating outside in the summer. An arched frescoed stairway leads off the main hall up to the piano nobile.

First floor. At the top of the stairs is a small landing leading right to a double bedroom with traditional terracotta floors and to a bathroom. To the left of the landing is a single bedroom and a door leading to the attic area. Double doors on the landing open into a beautiful and airy salon with three large windows giving a splendid view over the surrounding countryside. Painted seventeenth-century doors with stone architraves lead off from each corner of this salon. The doors on the left lead into the master suite consisting of a double bedroom, a dressing room, and bathroom. The doors to the right lead to two intercommunicating bedrooms, one double and one single.

Coachhouse: Some little distance from the main villa, forming the northerly border of the garden is a charming coach house with adjoining stables in stone and brick on three floors. This would convert into an elegant house separate from the main villa. Behind this building is a further stone building with a tiled roof floor known as the Woodhouse.
