Tenuta Chianti Classico DOCG includes 150 hectares of land, in one full piece, of which there are 30 hectares of DOCG vineyard in production, olive groves, forest, pastures and arable land; perfect and predisposed to be transformed to an organic farm. At the moment, it produces a decent income with the current low-cost family management.
The estate’s residential buildings support the owner’s agricultural activity, consisting of a working cellar, the main house with an annex and another detached second house which all are currently used as a farm to produce a fair income.
Initially it was a village whose first construction dates back to 1400s and later the villa was built (not inside the property) and all the farmhouses were built around the villa; they were inhabited by sharecroppers and their families. It was a complete farm, with vineyards and wine cellars, an oil mill and olive groves, sheep, donkeys, oxen and farmyard animals.
The entire estate became the property of the Family of the Corsini Princes. In the 1960’s the village became depopulated. The current owners bought it in the ‘80s, renovating the farmhouses and made the farm production active once again.
Currently the estate is family managed and produces about 20 quintals or about 2,000 liters of olive oil per year. The olive grove measures about 4.65 hectares and contains Moraiolo, Leccino and Correggiolo olives.
The winemaking part of the estate includes 30.19 hectares of vineyards with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia Bianca grapes. Tenuta Chianti Classico DOCG produces five different types of wine including a Chianti Classico DOCG and a Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva.
The wine cellar measures about 1,326 m2 (14,273 ft2) and includes wine tasting rooms, a barrique for wine aging, warehouses, offices and has the necessary equipment for wine production.
The former old hunting lodge of the Tenuta Chianti Classico DOCG is now the main country house, measuring approximately 304 m2 (3,272 ft2) laid out over two floors with large living rooms, bedrooms, and a traditional kitchen. The country house has been kept in good condition and has been recently renovated.
Next to country house there is the recently renovated attached farmhouse of about 167 m2 (1,798 ft2) which includes a kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Just in front of these two houses there is a refreshing swimming pool with views overlooking the property’s vineyards, forest, and olive groves.
Not far away from these country houses there is another separate farmhouse measuring 351 m2 (3,778 ft2) laid out over two floors with four rooms, a large living room and kitchen in addition to its wine cellar; currently it is used for agritourism purposes.
