Very often, people who travel to Florence plan a day trip to near by towns or villages that are well known, rich in history and very attractive as well. Greve in Chianti.

Greve in Chianti is located just 30 minutes south of Florence and it is known as a bucolic town.  It is finds itself well off the main roads, but nevertheless,  is connected by secondary roads that ensure an easy access to the capital, and it is related to the A1 superstrada between Florence and Rome.

Pisa.

If you are looking for calmness and a bit of history, the beautiful Lucca is the city to visit. Located an hour west of Florence, it can be reached it by car, or by train in the blink of an eye.
